a tacky distraction

while this week has been slightly emotional, there have been a few highlights. and as the title suggest, they are of the TACKY persuasion.

one of the ladies at work found a tree and brought it into the office for us to use as a decoration for the office.  any type of decoration would be an improvement over the old beige walls and gray cubicles.at first i was not interested in the tree and what it had to offer, but I quickly realized that it would take me away from the drama that has become my desk, so i jumped in on the fun. i say jumped….but really i became the ring leader.

i do not have before pictures or :in the process: pictures, but i do have some after photos. I am quit proud of it.

we used items that our technicians use everyday. cds. tie wraps. grommets. and my favorite, the Workorder! the garland is old phone cords. we had a blast making it and love looking at it throughout the day!

my favorite part is not the tree itself, although i think we did a great job.

i would like to introduce you to Mabel Slappey:    she is my new mascot!

it was fun making her!! she was supposed to be a tree topper, but alas she is too heavy.

what do you think?  could i make it as a decorator?

the cutest kids ever!!!

my sister just sent me some new picutres of my niece and nephew.  it has offically been a year since i have kissed there checks, read them a book, snuggled on a couch with sippy cups and hot chocolate. I miss them!!!! terribly!!!  they are growing up so fast. Caitlin (toodles) just turned 7 and Ryan (tater) just turned 2.  She looks like my sister and he looks like my grandfather and mimi (my ma).  Scheudles and money have kept us apart and i hate it. I think i need to color a picture and send it to them.

Do they remember Auntie Cole?

Do they love me?

gonna go cry (again…)
